Concrete resists wear and tear and is resistant to fire, stains, water, bacteria, and odors. It does not scratch, it is easy to clean and the design is customizable. Concrete also contributes to good air quality and can help reduce energy bills if used correctly.
Soil-cement is the intimate and homogeneous mixture of pulverized soil with certain amounts of Portland cement and water, and after compacting, to obtain high densities, and curing, so that a more effective hardening occurs, a new resistant material is obtained.
There are various reasons that currently determine greater use of soil-cement in the construction of pavement structures and, for this, it is essential to have structures of this type with layers of high support capacity and resistant to atmospheric agents.
The mechanical properties of the soil-cement increase over time, which minimizes the need for pavement maintenance, obtaining a prolonged useful life and a reduction in the total pavement structure.
